The State of New Hampshire has announced they are testing and observing a patient from the Upper Valley for COVID-19, simply known as “coronavirus 2019.” Crossroads Academy is actively monitoring the evolving environment concerning COVID-19 with a focus on how to best care for and protect our students and staff. The efforts at Crossroads Academy are focused on prevention practices and a virtual school continuity plan. We are not anticipating a school closure but want our families to know we are developing a plan in the case it is required or recommended by the State of New Hampshire or CDC.
In the meantime, our staff is exercising respiratory etiquette and following CDC guidelines:
- Routinely disinfect classrooms and shared surfaces
- frequent handwashing for at least 20 seconds or using alcohol-based sanitizer when they cannot wash hands
- stay at home when sick
- avoid touching face
- cover cough and sneeze with tissue & throw away tissue immediately after use
- The CDC does not recommend people wear face masks to prevent themselves from getting COVID-19 or any other flu/respiratory virus.
- Please refer to the latest CDC travel advisories. As today, there are travel warnings to mainland China, South Korea, Italy, Japan, and Iran. Families and staff returning from these regions will follow the CDC guidelines.
