Incredible Crossroads Academys curriculum integrates Core Knowledge and Core Virtues. Core Knowledge is a body of solid shared specific and sequenced knowledge most essential for literacy in contemporary American society. Solid content in history literature geography mathematics and science promotes cultural literacy and provides rich opportunities to develop skills in reading writing speaking and critical thinking. Core Virtues are those traits of character that define human moral goodness. Our approach is centered upon the four cardinal virtues of justice wisdom courage and temperance. These two strands combine to create an ethos of perseverance academic strength self-reflection and moral courage. As they master content and practice virtue students gain over time an appreciation of who they are and who they aspire to be. We love Crossroads because the curriculum addresses the whole child. There is a body of knowledge the students should possess when they leave and there is a person theyre meant to be compassionate aware of the world around them able to lead when capable and follow when necessary.
