This month's virtues are Gratitude and Stewardship. Gratitude is thankfulness for the gift of life and the gifts in life. Stewardship is caring well for the gifts given to us--our life, our world, our talents, and those entrusted to our care.

Master Class Musician: Coraline Mann

Sixth grader Coraline Mann was recently selected to play in a Master Class at the West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts. Coraline was the only middle school student from the Upper Valley Music Center to play at the event. She played a piece by C.M. Von Weber and was coached by members of the Haven String Quartet. Coraline was reported to have done "an amazing job integrating the coaching of these professional musicians, incorporating stylistic and technique improvements into her playing in real-time in front of an audience." We are so proud of the hard work Coraline has put in, and look forward to seeing her continue to grow musically!

Record Breaking Operation Gratitude

Mr. Chappuis is proud to announce that this year the fifth grade class collected a record amount of 81 pounds of candy in their Operation Gratitude service effort! The candy was donated to Hanover Police Department, Hanover Fire Station, Lebanon Police Department, Lebanon Fire Station, Hartford Police Department, the VA Hospital, and the Lyme Police Department. We are so proud of the thoughtfulness of all of our families who took part in this effort.

Middle School Art Update

Before the break, Middle School students completed a number of art projects. Please enjoy this snapshot of what they students have been creating.

Your Gift to the Crossroads Fund

As the month of November comes to a close, we continue to think about the virtues of gratitude and stewardship. We are grateful for the experiences we are able to provide our students, our dedicated faculty and staff, for our facilities, and for the incredible learning that takes place here every day. We are grateful to the many current and former parents, grandparents, board members, and friends who have made gifts to the Crossroads Fund this year, making all of the above possible. Please consider supporting Crossroads Academy by making a gift today.

Grandparent Portraits

If you attended Grandparents and Special Friends day this fall, and had a portrait taken with your grandchild(ren), you should have received a letter in the mail that included this link to the portraits. If you did not receive such a letter, please email Katie Wardrop with your correct contact information. Thank you!

Test of our Emergency Communication System

On Wednesday, November 30, we will be sending an emergency communication test through our BrightArrow system. The communication will be sent as a text, an email, and a phone call to all available contact information that we have. This is the system that we will use to inform families when we have a snow day or delay, as well as communicate during an emergency. After the test, please let us know if you have any changes to make with your contact information. Thank you!

Additional Ensemble Rehearsals

There will be two additional ensemble rehearsals on Tuesday, November 29 and Tuesday, December 6. Students in the String Ensemble must bring their instruments on Tuesday.
