This month's virtues are Gratitude and Stewardship. Gratitude is thankfulness for the gift of life and the gifts in life. Stewardship is caring well for the gifts given to us--our life, our world, our talents, and those entrusted to our care.

Dear Crossroads Community,

As we head toward the Thanksgiving break and the holiday season I wanted to take a moment to share my gratitude for all of the individual things that make the collective Crossroads experience so special and unique. Coming to school every day to work with experienced, caring, and compassionate colleagues is a true blessing.

The wonder and awe that the students bring to school is infectious and brings us all great joy each and every day. Crossroads would not be the unique and special school that it has become without the stewardship and support of the wider community of parents, alums, and trustees.

Thank you to each and everyone of you, I am wishing you rest and relaxation next week!

With sincere gratitude,

Dan Morrissey

Gratitude Tree

During the month of November you will find a Gratitude Tree displayed in the Fanger Center right outside the Commons. Turn over a new leaf. Stay rooted. Extend an olive branch. Trees are inherently metaphorical. In the case of this “living” art project, the tree stands for your ever-growing gratitude. Students wrote what they’re most thankful for on a leaf, added a ribbon, and placed them in the branches. It’s a simple way to stop and appreciate what you’ve got!

MathCounts Competition

The MathCounts competition will be held Thursday, December 1 during lunch and recess. Students in fourth through eighth grade who are interested in solving challenging math problems are encouraged to participate. The top four contestants will advance to the Chapters competition. This competition fulfills one of the STEM Certificate requirements. Please contact Maria Squire for more details!

Please note there is no After Care this Friday, November 18 as we head into our Thanksgiving Break.
