Head of School

Message from Head of School Dan Morrissey

Thank you for visiting Crossroads Academy’s website. Nestled in the heart of New England’s Upper Valley, Crossroads Academy is a small but mighty independent, coeducational school on a stunning 140-acre campus in Lyme, NH. For thirty years, Crossroads Academy has served students from kindergarten through eighth grade who share a passion and joy for learning. I invite you to explore our website and learn about the vibrant community that brings to life the mission of Crossroads Academy. Please be sure to peruse the information for prospective families.

Crossroads Academy stands distinctly and exceptionally alone from its peers in the Upper Valley because our teachers use the Core Knowledge and Core Virtues Programs to fuel inquiry, engage in discussions and to develop empathy and kindness in our charges as they learn about the world around them. Of course, our dedicated and caring faculty and staff are skilled guides for every student’s educational journey. Crossroads’ high standards for academics and character development are rooted in our mission: We inspire our students to love learning, act honorably, and contribute actively to intellectual, cultural, and civic life. Families choose Crossroads because they recognize that the curriculum and culture here support and nurture the best possible learning environment for their children.

Crossroads Academy is particularly lucky to be the home of the New Hampshire Academy of Sciences (NHAS) which is housed in our newly built Fanger Center. Through our unique and valued partnership with the NHAS, Crossroads Academy middle-school students perform real science that real scientists do: discovery-based science based on authentic research using research-grade equipment.

Reviewing our website is a great introduction, we invite you to visit us soon to get to better know Crossroads Academy and to experience the magic of our mission. Families can request a tour and during their time on campus can observe classes, meet members of our faculty and staff, and, most importantly, speak to our engaged students.

I look forward to meeting you when you visit and partnering with you to help create the very best academic experience for your sons and daughters.
